Prince Geoge, B.C.- Two young women are facing charges stemming from the investigation into a reported sexual assault in Freeman Park.

On April 17th of this year, RCMP in Prince George started an investigation into what  they believed to have been a sexual assault  and savage  beating.  The victim was beaten so badly she could not remember  sigificant details of the previous night.  Working with the victim, investigators had a composite drawing done of a male suspect.  Several possible suspects were interviewed.

As a result of the investigation, two  females who had been in the  Park drinking the night of the assault, have been  charged.  The two, ( one aged 14 the other 17)  are facing charges of  aggravated assault and assault with  a weapon.  They are to appear in court in the next couple of weeks.

The Prince George Serious Crimes Unit does not believe the victim swas sexually assaulted the night  she was  beaten, and  is now advising the public to disregard the composite sketch of a male in his 40's that was released during the early days of the investigation.

Hmmmmm........
This is pure speculation, but if the victim was "protecting" the people who did this by making up a generic man to blame, is she then able to be charged with obstruction? Or is she that scared of the girls that her memory is sketchy?
Unable to recall certain details, such as the difference between 2 teenaged girls, and a generic man in his 40s. I'm guessing that if the victim were to rat out those girls, the situation would get a lot worse. Its pretty hard to be a teenager nowadays, particularly in a city like this. Gangs, gangs, everywhere gangs!
I say charge her for giving out a false profile of a generic middle age white male. If she wants to lie in the process of alerting the public to be on the look out, then she should face the consequences of that lie.

Clearly this is a case of racism profiling, and whether committed by a white, black, or brown it should be treated equally.

OMG! Are you for real? This girl was beaten beyond recognition!! Of course her memory would be jeopardised! I was hit on the head once and could not remember anything for months of the day it happened. Another case of the culprits being protected and the guilt placed on the victim. Shame on you for even typing the words!
Why doesn't the Provincial or Federal Government start coming up with some laws,to allow the RCMP to release the names of people who are well known to Police for they're criminal or gang activity. Why do these people have more rights than the victim or law abiding citizens. What are the governments and RCMP afraid of?Are they afraid that if the rest of the public knew the identities of these gangbangers, that they would start executing these people themselves.Don't give me this civil liberties crap, because these pieces of crap are anything but civil. This story about these girls is confusing and leads to a lot of speculation, because the cops can't or won't release enough details about the case, just like a lot of other stories in the news.I realize they have to protect the investigations, but I think they could clarify some things a little bit.
Yes, this girl was beaten beyond recognition and I'm guessing she knew the attackers were those girls but came up with another story in order to protect her assailants, and herself. Perhaps her memory was affected, however, it was a pretty detailed sketch.

She gave a false description. A sketch was circulated. Several suspects were interviewed. This could have ruined someone's life and someone could have been charged with this crime as a result of her false reporting.

If she knowingly pointed the finger elsewhere and knowingly implicated someone else, then yes, she should be charged.
The only thing the cops do right in Prince is bust grow ops! This is not the only girl/woman assaulted in this town and the end result is "who the hell did it?"

I think there is a lot more to this story and no one deserves to be beaten beyond recognition and then charged for being confused. When this story first broke the girl was tested at the hospital and found that she was sexually assaulted. Now she wasn't? Something does not feel right here, either there is too little information or the investigation is a fiasco.
