Prince George, B.C.- It has been a long time in the making, but today, Premier Gordon Campbell will be in Prince George  to  help celebrate the official start of construction of the Northern Cancer Centre.

The Premier will join the Minister of Health, Kevin Falcon, local MLAs and the head of the BC Cancer Agency for the official groundbreaking ceremony at the University Hospital of Northern B.C. at eleven this morning.

The start of construction was expected following the completion of the parkade (see previous story) which needed to be done in order to provide parking space for University of Northern B.C. Hospital staff as the new Cancer Centre is being built on the property which  was the  north side  parking lot for staff.

Campbell go back home and answer your emails....at least you will be doing something of what I beleive to be your level of ability..
Seems the announcement of Campbell being here was kept secret until this morning. I suppose he wants to make the announcement and get out of Dodge.

One would think that he would have rented the Civic Centre, and held a huge press conference to explain to us all the benefits we are getting from the HST-Carbon Tax.

Didnt he say he would be travelling around the Province explaining the tax. Lets see if he sticks around or gets the hell out.

Interesting times we live in.
GOOD LUCK WITH THAT!
Finally Prince George is getting the Cancer Clinic which was PROMISED to us by Mike Harcourt during the NDP's first election campaign!

After the election it was moved to Kelowna! Go figure.

But enough of that.

Welcome to all the government officials and representatives who will be attending the official groundbreaking ceremony at the University Hospital of Northern B.C. at eleven this morning.

This is a positively momentous occasion for Prince George and the whole north!

From me *Many Thanks* to the premier and our local MLAs!

You listened to the people!

Wow! great looking building, about time they build one up here :) no more people from way up north going way down south to Vancouver :P, this is good for the city i think :D
Looks like they are setting up for another announcement at the North End of the Simon Fraser Bridge. Yellowhead Road and Bridge personel all over the place like flies on a honey pot.

The Premier will make an announcement about the **Great Twinning of the Bridge**. I suspect that because the new weigh scale South of town is over budget by $9 Million and a year behind schedule, we will not get an announcement about that.

I agree that the Cancer Centre is a good thing, whether it be here or in Kelowna. However the fact that we need so many Cancer Clinics in BC is a little disturbing.

Seems like we have one hell of a lot of people with Cancer. Whats with that.

The smell of money.
I don't expect Campbell will stick around long.......
Wonder how many body guards he has now?
If I rmemeber right the last trip there were twelve or so...
probably double that now....

but yes the Cancer clinic I think is a good thing.....

Campbell keep your hands off and don't sully what is otherwise a good thing....

in other words...go home and stay there!

LOLOLOLOLOLOL

Ya!
I would like to thank the tax payers for their generosity. The people in Prince George really need the Cancer Clinic due to the polution that government let corperations get away with in this city for years.
Holy crap Loki! Really?!!

Didn't you know? There's all this cancer because the government has scientists working around the clock looking for new ways to give people cancer in new forms so the people trying to cure it won't catch up!
Watch out! There's one behind you now.
Ha ha! You kill me! Tell that one to Marco Marra

Happy it's almost here. Not quite soon enough though.

Even if the numbers weren't as high as they are, I'd still want to have multiple centres. Traveling for treatment is an awful thing to ask of a cancer patient.

You can LOL all you want! Perhaps one day you may realize that to deal with cancer and its circumstances are NOT an LOL matter!

Then you may show some appreciation of what is happening.
