The question of booze being served in many city establishments, gets an airing at the City Council meeting tonight.
The matter of permitting alcohol sales in the concourse and standing room area of CN Center during Cougar games will be considered. The City will also consider the sale of alcohol in a limited number of seats in the ball parks and at CN Center for non hockey events.
It is recommended that this be a one year trial period.
The poicy changes would permit PG Playhouse would to have a permanent booze license as would the Pine Valley Golf Course, The PG Art Gallery, and the Fraser- Fort George Regional Museum.
The senior soccer clubhouse would receive a permanent liquor license as would Massey Place Stadium on a limited basis.
Special licenses would be available to the Sr. Men’s baseball stadium as well as the new Nechako Park soft ball complex. Special event licenses would also go to the PGX barn and Livestock area.
The matter came before Council at their last regular meeting but because of the complexity of the issue, it was tabled to allow for more time for Council to consider the issue.
