Area Restriction Order Near Pelican Lake Remains

WILLIAMS LAKE –The BC Wildfire Management Branch has placed an Area Restriction Order in the Pelican Lake and Pantage Lake area and the public must find alternative travel routes. Failure to comply with this order can result in a fine up to $5,000 and imprisonment of up to six months.

Large, intense wildfires that have burned in the Pelican lake area this summer have caused hazardous road conditions due to falling trees. For the safety of the public and fire personnel, the BC Wildfire Management Branch has issued an Area Restriction Order.
