Prince George, B.C.- City council for Prince George has approved the increase in the occupancy level for the Riverstone Bar and Grill  at 15th and  Central.
The request would see the indoor capacity increase from 98 to 125, and the patio increase from 32 to 35.
The applicant says it needs to increase its capacity because it is the only pub in the city that is doing music and dancing for an older audience.   They say they need to increase the capacity in order to provide a large enough audience to be able to afford the bands. They add they have a record with the RCMP of having, on average, one call per month. Applicant Brock Gable says they have taken a very responsible approach to their pub, providing at first, one shuttle to pick up and drop off patrons, a service that has now grown to two shuttles.
Council unanimously approved the  application.

Riverstone has become a model pub for the city. Congratulations for the good work and service.
Shuttle people back and forth to pubs so that they can get drunk. Must be pretty good money in selling booze.

With the new driving restrictions giving you a fine of $350.00 if you blow over .05% why the hell would anyone go to a pub. .08% was sufficient. Going to .05 is just a money grab.

The Government sells you the liquor and then gives you a big fine for drinking it.
They should be sued for being accomplices.
"The applicant says it needs to increase its capacity because it is the only pub in the city that is doing music and dancing for an older audience."

huh!!!.. there are live bands with dancing at The Alternate pub and Rileys pub every weekend and Shooters on Ospika have an in-house sound system and stage already built for bands but are waiting for a licence. Live bands are also appearing at the twisted cork.
Going to .05 is just a money grab.

Yes you are right. I know all those European countries, like Sweden, that have a .02 limit and insane prices for booze, are just in it for the bucks as well.

" Only pub in the city doing music and dancing"...???? Is this guy living in his own little box? Other venues have awakened the local live entertainment industry and it seems as the RS is riding some coat tails..... The local bands work for less than a UFC fight and they are three times the entertainment. I can't believe what an easy sell the city council are.... I'm not against boosting the seating capacity if they meet all the requirements of local durisdictions but to use the costs of the bands as a reason is pretty far fetched......
