Crash Causes Power Outage

Power pole repaired but vehicle remained on its roof  on the north side of River Road.

Prince George, B.C.- On September 13th 2010 at approximately 11:50 pm Prince George RCMP responded to a single vehicle accident on River Road which caused over 100 residents to be without power.

Members attended the scene with BC Ambulance and located a vehicle which had hit a power pole and rolled onto its roof off the roadway. The sole occupant was assisted out of the vehicle by 2 witnesses who called police.

The driver, a 50 yr old male Prince George resident, was taken to the University Hospital of Northen British Columbia via ambulance for medical attention.

Police advise that speed and alcohol are contributing factors to the incident and therefore an Impaired Driving investigation is underway.

BC Hydro was contacted and are currently working in the area to restore power
