Prince George, B.C.- A huge pile of new concrete sits on the north side of  Highway 97 at Sintich Road, evidence of a  boo-boo.

Ministry of Transportation reps say the concrete used to be a median  at Sintich  Road that had been  poured  by the contractor working on the Cariboo Connector.

Seems the median was  built to the wrong dimensions and  did not meet Ministry of Transportation standards, so, the whole median had to be chopped up and removed,  then re-formed and re-poured.

The Ministry says  the responsibility  for any added costs to the project because of this error, lies squarely on the shoulders of the contractor.  The Ministry says the  error was limited to just this one median.

Methinks that's why they put erasers on the ends of pencils.
Nice Rip Rap for those residential properties along the Nechako in danger of erosion.
Was the City involved in this project? Just wondering.
Cheers
I can't believe this is news...LOL
Just as a matter of interest, this story has been read by four times as many people as any other story we posted today. It may not be news in someone’s world but to the greater majority it is what they want to read ,as they sit and wonder whether it was their money going to pay for the mistake.
It will be our money because contractors to the province always have cost over runs and the Province always pays them.
Really couldnt care less who's fault it is just get this never ending project done...
Gus you beat me to it. I was thinking the same thing as soon as I seen that pile of concrete.
