New Record Low Temp Set Today

Prince George B.C.-  Get out the snowshovels and the scarves, B.C. can expect a colder than normal winter says Environment Canada’s Jim Steele.
Speaking on the Meisner program this morning on CFISFM, Steele says it is all because of “La Nina”, the system developing in the Pacific.
He says with colder than normal temperatures, it is quite likely there will be more snow .“With the colder than normal temperatures, much of what would have been rain, will likely be snowfall” says Steele.
Steele says the jet stream will be dropping to the Washington state area and that means lots of cold air aloft. Already, Prince George has set a new record low for today. The old record was minus 3.9 set in 1971, and the temperature was in the minus 6 area this morning. Steele says the official mark won’t be clear for an hour or so, but it is definitely a new record for today.

So what about climate change and global warming?
Same old, same old.

If you still don't understand what global warming means, any explanation will be a waste of time. LOL
Oh its not called climate change anymore. See the term global warming was not working out since there has been no warming for 12 years. The wording was then changed to climate change which is kind of funny since the climate is always changing but the soothsayers find that wording is not scary so there is new wording just coming out to replace climate change and that is climate disruption.

Oh by the way the soothsayers say record cold temperatures are also caused by climate disruption along with record high temperatures, I kid you not. Must keep the funding coming in somehow. Remember how in the 70's the mantra was entering an ice age.

Here is something to think about, the sun has been relativly inactive for awhile now, lack of sunspots, and following past history if it stays inactive we could be in for 30 years or so of a cooling trend. Only time will tell.
these so called experts cant even forcast 2 days ahead ! half of them worked for the shopping station. so like they say,, get your head out of the clouds

Well it MUST have been cool last nite - I awoke to find Mr Rabbitt snuggled up behind me - gonna have to put up with that for the next six months - if Steele is correct.

At least with all the fresh snow I will be able to blend in with my new "whites"- might even be fun again !

Actually seamutt, the sun's activity is growing much stronger, and it should peak about April 17th, 2014 - not that any of us will be here to see it, being as how everything goes black on Dec 21, 2012.

But until then, it's all good !!

:-)

I completely agree with Gus, honestly explaining climate change is is such a waste of time. We have a cold day, or a cold winter and people are up in arms because it obviously disproves climate change. Meanwhile people are oblivious to extreme weather such as catastrophic droughts in places that shouldn't wouldn't normally have a problem, record breaking storms in other areas, among other things. We could throw stats and evidence in your face for years but at the end of the day what good will it do? A cold day comes along and all scientific evidence is deemed irrelevant.
The words "climate" and "weather" are not synonyms but are treated as if they mean exactly the same thing by those with no firm grip on the matter. There's a course at CNC called "Weather and Climate" indicating that they are actually quite different. Weather is typically defined as day-to-day meteorological phenomena whereas climate refers to patterns of weather occuring over very long periods of time, at a minimum 30 years. Those with no knowledge of science as well as a deep, personal, and perverse desire to bash a science they don't even understand seem to take particular delight in pointing to a frosty morning as "proof" that global warming (or climate change, whichever you prefer) is BS. This year is on track to be the hottest year on the planet in recorded meteorological history - look it up.
Yeah, it was a hot summer Dude Krusty, like it was awesome. May be next year would be the same or even hotter. That was an awesome summer, like you know.
Some people just can's take joke. Lighten up! Beside the tax is real, remember carbon tax? All just a money grab. I'm still waiting for the ice age of the 70's too.

The obvious thing about climate change has never been mentioned. We must have climate change. If every day was exactly the same, life would be a bitch -- literally.
