Prince George, B.C.- The Board of Education for School District 57 will hold it’s first public meeting of the new school year this evening.
Although the published agenda doesn’t mention the Dunster School of Fine Arts, it is expected the matter will come up as there are several pieces of correspondence that have to do with the disposal of school property, and minutes of in camera meetings which have taken place as late as September 14th to deal with a “property matter”.
The Dunster School of Fine Arts was one of several schools closed by School District 57 in order for the District to meet it’s budget targets. Some Dunster residents have set up tents next to the school property and had been offering classes to about half a dozen students since the start of the school year. The Dunster Fine Arts School Society would like to buy the property from the School District and maintain the property while the School District provides the educational component of the equation.
The agenda does indicate the Board will receive it’s annual financial statement from KPMG.
