Prince George, B.C.- The Prince George Cougars hit the ice tonight at CN Centre for their season home opener and a busy night it will be.
The Vancouver Giants will be in town, but should be prepared to be overcome with “Pink Power” as this is the Pink Power Play Game to help support the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation’s CIBC Run For A Cure on Sunday. Wear pink to the rink and play Chuck-A-Puck for a chance to win two flights to any WestJet destination.
The home season starts with a tailgate party outside the CN Centre at 5:30 with live music, a magician and some hot dog sales to benefit Big Brothers and Sisters.
The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation will have a Chuck-A-Puck contest during the second intermission. Buy a puck, and the person who chucks theirs closest to the middle of the WestJet sign will win two flights to any WestJet destination. Proceeds from the contest will go to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation’s CIBC Run For a Cure on Sunday.
If that isn’t enough, the Cougars, in conjunction with the YMCA, are delighted to have former WHL star and Vancouver Canucks Captain Trevor Linden available during the Cougars 2nd intermission on Opening night for a meet and greet with fans. The City of Prince George will award a “Trevor Linden Day” proclamation on ice to Trevor during the second intermission.
