Prince George, B.C.- Effective tomorrow,  you can forget about accessing much of the Ridgeview Trail in the Hart area.

Crews will be on site to remove dead pine and forest fire fuels from the area.

This area was identified in the City of Prince George’s Wildfire Prevention plans as being an area that poses a very high fire hazard. That designation is the result of a combination of factors including the slope, type of trees and the proximity to residences or other buildings.

The first phase of the treatment was completed in March of this year when dead pine and larger fuels were removed from the area. This second phase will see the removal of understory or fine fuels from the edge of the trail.

The westernmost section of trail beginning at Wildwood Crescent running 1.6km to the south end of Sadler Drive will be closed. The remaining eastern part of the trail will remain open.
The work is expected to be completed by the beginning of November.

Walk down the trail and then turn around and walk back. Hmmmmm

Seems like not much of a trail system
Sort of like walking, hiking, climbing up a mountain and then back down ...
Opening up the view scape is always good. Wish we could nominate select trees in this town for removal to open up more scenery. I'd start on the edge of University Way, and then work some of the local hiking trails and such.
