Hundreds gather at Prince George Civic Centre to prep for the run
Prince George, B.C.- The hundreds of people who took part in the CIBC Run for the Cure in Prince George today, raised $112 thousand dollars .
More than 600 breast cancer survivors, their families, friends, and supporters created a party in pink for a future without breast cancer by participating in the 19th annual Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure at Prince George Civic Centre.
Walkers and runners alike journeyed through the five- and one-kilometre routes around Prince George. Local participants collected donations in the months leading up to the Run, raising more than $112,200 in Prince George as of Run Day.
At British Columbia’s nine Run sites, some 22,000 participants contributed to a provincial fundraising total of $3.6 million. Across Canada, participants at 60 Run sites raised a total of $33 million. All funds support initiatives in prevention, early detection, treatment, research and emerging issues in the health care workforce.

• New Balance Women’s Team Challenge Award for the team of women who raised the most donations: Northbreast Passage Dragon Boat Team
• Friends and Family Team Challenge Award (presented by East Side Mario’s) for the team in the community which raises the most donations: Double Doogs
• School Team Challenge Award for the school team which raised the most donations: UNBC Student Nurses
