A 36 year old Ft St John man has been taken into custody and is scheduled to appear in court Monday.

On September 29th,  just after noon,  Herb Sangrett was parked outside of the Totem Court apartments where he lived with his 87 year old wife.

His wife was getting into the SUV when she was struck by another vehicle backing up at high speeds.

The vehicle in question was a mobile treatment type vehicle which consisted of a pickup with a camper with first Aid markings on it.

Two males and a female were riding in the vehicle.

Police are recommending charges of failing to remain at the scene of an accident, and driving while disqualified.

Soooooooo if they were driving a mobile First Aid vehicle then why wouldn't they have provided medical assistance to their own victim?

Wow... as if it couldn't get any worse.
geeeez....... Horrible x 2!
Newtech, you said it right. The guys 36, driving while disqualified, maybe a first aid guy, and you can't tell me he didn't know he hit this person. Wonder why he was disqualified, did his employer know?
Feel very sad for Mr. Sangrett.
Oh they knew they hit the lady. The 3 occupants got out of the truck to see what they had done, before getting back in and taking off.
Surely this is at least second degree murder.

If it is when the guy is drunk, then why isn't it when the guy leaves the scene of an accident and leaves the victim for dead so as not be caught being drunk or driving without a license? They should all be charged for participating in leaving the scene of an accident.

This is no different than the tazer happy cop in Vancouver that ran over that guy on his bike and then headed home to sober up and got off on it.

And we wonder why the norm for an accident like this has become the standard leave the scene.... with little for consequences or repercussions.
