Prince George, B.C. –  Expect more construction along Tyner Boulevard.

City Council has  given the final reading to a rezoning application that will start phase two of the University Heights  subdivision plan.

The applpication calls for the rezoning of one 10 hectare parcel that is located south of Tyner Boulevard to RM3: Multiple Residential, AG: Greenbelt, and AF: Agriculture and Forestry.

The applicant would like to rezone a second, eleven hectare parcel to RS2: Single Residential, AG: Greenbelt, and AF: Agriculture and Forestry.

The proposed zones for Property A will provide for multiple family housing with a maximum density of 60 dwellings/ha while the proposed zones for Property B will facilitate the development of single family houses.

The project is  part of the neighbourhood plan which  City Council approved  in 2007.   A traffic  impact study conducted at the time of the development of the first phase required a limitation on the number of housing units in the  subdivision.
