Weird times indeed when doing the good Samaritan thing can cost one one's life.

Lesson to be learned: Don't stop for anything, just keep on driving?
For any one incident such as this one there are thousands of people grateful for the caring actions of strangers. I know I’ve been helped out on many occasions by good people who could have just driven by. I think the odds of getting a warm thank you (instead of a blow to the head) are greatly in my favour. I’ll take my chances!
I grew up with a dad who always stopped, and due to his undiagnosed OCD, always had tools and other goodies to help stranded motorists. I to do the same. Some say I'm taking a chance, and I could possibly end up like this guy when I get older, but I've always believed that one day I will be stranded on the side of the road needing a hand.

I really hope it's a nice guy like this trucker that stops and not the gutless pukes who found it alright to attack a 67 year old man.

May karma pay you back a thousand fold.

Wasn't there a similar event several years back where a motorist stopped to help out a stranded car and was attacked by someone who actually shot an arrow at them? Perhaps this person got out of jail recently.....
Yes, back in 2003 Paul Serup was shot with an arrow by Wade Gielzecki on Hwy 97 north when he stopped to help.

Correct Imorge.
Poor bugger stopped to help at an accident scene?(Pine Pass?)and got shot with a crossbow for his efforts.
The guy doing the shooting was a nutbar,as I recall.
He's probably out by now,I am sure!
Interrupt a "business" transaction?Call it in to police dispatch and keep driving.
How sad a society we've become....
Gielzecki was found to be mentally ill and eventually released in 2007. About a year ago he was charged with another assault in Ontario. I don't know the outcome of that.
The good hearted trucker probably interrupted some scumbags doing dirty business.
metalman.
Pack a gun if you're going to stop. I won't even stop for an accident---no use of me vomiting all over the injured people.
