Burns Lake, B.C. – Burns Lake RCMP arrested a 41 year-old Vancouver man during a drug raid in the village yesterday.

Officers executed a warrant at a Bartlett Road home just before noon and discovered what investigators are calling a sophisticated marijuana growing operation.  Police seized over 1100 pot plants and growing equipment from the residence.

Investigators say the grow-op appears to have been running for at least a year and had an electricity bypass to power the operation.

The suspect arrested at the scene is facing charges of electricity theft over $5000 and production of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.

Burns Lake RCMP say the investigation is continuing as police look for other people that may be involved in the operation.

make sure you impound their cars for excessive "SPEED" you morons!
Can't even make a living there. Yeah, how about impounding there vehicle and everything else they own. Doubt that will happen, they will be out on the street in a matter of minutes with the keys handed to them.
The RCMP should fund marijuana legalization (prop 19) in california. That will be a much more effective use of resources for them. Decreasing demand from out of province would have a greater effective then looking for these grow ops.
Need I say it again - legalize it with taxes and quality control. We could pay off the debt with this!
