School District 57 Short-Lists For Superintendent
By 250 News
Two candidates are in the running to replace outgoing School District 57 Superintendent Dick Chambers.
Chambers announced his resignation back in September, saying that he had met a personal commitment to stay in the post for five years. But he did offer to stay on until the Board of School Trustees found a replacement.
The search was extended in November because of concerns applicants may have been awaiting the outcome of the municipal election. The first closing date was just prior to the November 19th election and solicited seven responses, by the extended deadline in early January, a total of nine applications had been received.
Superintendent Search Committee Chair, Lyn Hall, says the two candidates will be interviewed on February 27th, with the successful applicant named the next evening at the February 28th school board meeting.
Hall will not provide any details on the applicants, themselves.
