Ft. St. John, B.C.- The  appearance  in court yesterday by Encana  didn't last long and the next appearance will be in Dawson Creek.

Encana has been  charged  with introducing waste into the environment and failing to report a spill of a pollutin substance.  The Ministry of the Environment  filed the charges in connection to a  sour  gas leak  of nearly a year ago in the  Pouce Coupe region.

People awoke to the smell of sour gas, but didn't know what to do, so they called the RCMP.

An investigation showed the leak had been caused when  a "tee" in the pipeline  failed after being  damaged by  sand.

Both the Crown and Defense agreed to  move the case to Dawson Creek.  The company's next  court appearance is set for December 7th  in Dawson Creek.

yeah, its amazing what a grain of sand can do inside of a pipe. I had a copper fitting spewing out water because of one grain of sand.
