Prince George, BC – For the second straight  year, Prince George Cougars Captain Brett Connolly will suit up for Team WHL against Team Russia in the 2010 CHL SUBWAY® Super Series.  Connolly will play in the sixth and final game of the 2010 CHL SUBWAY® Super Series when it is played at CN Centre on Thursday, November 18.  He is the only Prince George Couger who will be on the ice for Team WHL, but he is  one of two who call Prince George home who will be on the ice.  The other being Ryan Howse who plays for the Chilliwack Bruins.

Connolly played in the final game of the 2009 CHL SUBWAY® Super Series in Kelowna, which Team WHL won 4-2 over Team Russia.

Connolly, the 2009 CHL Rookie of the Year, is currently tied for fifth in league scoring with 11 goals and 18 points in 11 games this season.  The 6’2”, 203 pound forward from Prince George, has recorded a point in each of the Cougars first 11 games this season, and is on a 13 game point streak, going back to the last two games of the 2009-10 season.  He  has also scored a goal in six consecutive games, scoring nine goals over that span.  His goal streak is the longest current streak in the Western Hockey League.
Drafted by the Cougars in the first round, 10th overall, in the 2007 WHL Bantam Draft, he was selected by the Tampa Lightning sixth overall in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft last June.

Cougars Head Coach Dean Clark, who recorded his 400th career coaching victory in the WHL Wednesday, will be an Assistant Coach for the November 18 CHL SUBWAY® Super Series game at CN Centre in Prince George.  Tickets are available by calling Ticketmaster at 250-564-5585 or visit www.ticketmaster.ca.
