Y Champion Weekend Scored Big

Prince George, B.C. - The Family YMCA is thrilled with the success of its first annual Y Champions Hockey weekend earlier this month...
The final tally is now in and the fundraising event 'netted' $20-thousand dollars for local YMCA programs like Camp Kanannaq, Simon Fraser Lodge and Youth Around Prince George.
Former long-time Vancouver Canuck, Trevor Lindon, was the linchpin of the weekend -- he was the guest of honour at a sold-out banquet where he shared his thoughts on leadership and volunteering. He also took park in a friendly on-ice competition at Kin I, that saw 70 local hockey players hit the ice.
The first event went so well that dates have already been set aside for the 2nd Y Champions Hockey weekend, next September 30th and October 1st, 2011.
