See they need to rent room to keep evidence for court. This is how messed things are now.
Good! Another Grow Op busted, kick'in the ass of organized crime.
And for all you crybabies out there who need your pot, sucks to be you supporting OG
Is someone keeping a tally of these?

It would be nice to see a year to year comparison over the past 5 to 10 years to see how much of a growth industry this actually is. I mean it is nice to see these articles on here and see all the btichin’ going on, but that hardly accomplishes anything other than keeping the electrons flowing.

Do we really know what is going on as far as where we stand in percentage of actual operations there are and the number that are being uncovered?

Also, it would be nice to see where we are in production with respect to the rest of the province. Are we the number one producer of say the number of tons per 10,000 population that we think we have and the number that we are uncovering.

So far, the only indicator we see of how our local law enforcement agencies are doing is to see that crime is going up. At first blush, that indicator does not shed a good light on our enforcement efforts. So is it really true that the crime is being imported from other locations because those locations are driving people into communities such as PG? And, if that is the case, could someone not have foreseen this and do something about it beforehand? While thinking about that, remember the stats we are looking at are 2 years old. What are the leading indicators which can be used to predict what the next 2 year batch of lagging indicators will be? Are we going to get worse? Are other communities going to get better? How much does PG have to pay to get rid of problems imported from other communities? What amount is the provincial government paying to help with this provincial issue?

Is this not the same as pushing hookers around town rather than dealing with the issue? Neither of these two vices are going to go away very fast. So how does one get to the root of the problem other than the popular thinking around here of shooting them or locking them up for life on some remote northern island.

I mean, with solutions like that we could end up with an other Australia on our hands 200 years from now. Who would want to do that to our great great granschilren? :-)
I just wish they would harass and bust the pushers of the two worst drugs in the history of the world: alcohol & tobacco.
Don't forget gambling. It devastates society.
An interesting article on a theory of the role of vices on human evolution

"Vices may have fueled human progress"
It will be legal by years end in California... then what... harsh sentences will look kind of silly then... best bet is to legalize approved agriculture outfits under strict rules and continue to enforce the laws against illegal grow ops... tax the hell out of the regulated ones, and put the money into going after the hard drugs that fuel the crime.
stinking tax grab.
Hasn't affected the price yet, seems to me the ganja just keeps getting cheaper.
Not that I don't want to see the cops succeed but couldn't they target something worthwhile? Like one of the debilitating drugs?
punks in numbers, its really the sign of the times, not a good road we are heading down, they get to the young first and well ,,,your in,maybee the laws are to weak,or maybee its us
it's not the pot itself...........it's the people growing/selling etc. They are gang members and are not nice people. They are criminals with no respect or compassion for people.
I think it's time we give credit to the RCMP for their outstanding efforts on the drug busts and the recent gang busting. It's time we as a community recognize our police officers who are out there everyday in an effort to make this a somewhat bareable place to live. Why aren't we critisizing the 'gangs' (GTS, IS)? Shouldn't we be supporting eachother in the efforts to minimize their impact on our community? Why are the RCMP always at fault in many of your eyes?

Seems like many of you who comment on here have nothing nice to say until it's you who needs the help or you who wants out of a ticket. Thank you RCMP, keep up the great work!
