Prince George- Newly appointed Minister of Forests, Mines and lands, Pat Bell says, he has received only a quick briefing on the Prosperity Mine near Williams Lake, that has been approved by the Province, but is still awaiting approval from Ottawa.
Bell was appointed Minister to both Forests and Mining yesterday in a cabinet shuffle by Premier Gordon Campbell.
Bell who held the post of Minister of Mines previously, says there is good linkage between Mines and Forests in that you are dealing with land base.
It is interesting Bell says,” because when we go to China with Forests you are trying to sell lumber, in mines you are trying to attract investment in mining in this province “.
