Prince George, B.C.- An application to have the City of Prince George produce more documents in the case involving Brian Skakun has been dismissed.
Judge Kenneth Ball said while he intends to issue a fully detailed set of reasons, in the interests of moving the trial forward, he is accepting the arguments put forth by the City’s lawyer, Barry Williamson.
Williamson argued the defense was on a fishing expedition and wanted to "turn City Hall on its head and shake out every document in a fruitless search".
Skakun is accused of breaching the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act in relation to the release of the confidential Heller report.
Crown expects to start calling witnesses at 1:30 this afternoon.
