RCMP Incident Closes Hwy 16, Near Terrace

Prince George, B.C. -  Highway 16-west between Terrace and Kitwanga is closed in both direection due to a situation underway involving the RCMP.

RCMP Constable Cindy Nunes says, "The highway closure has been made in order for RCMP resources to safely deal with an unfolding incident." 

Constable Nunes says,  "No further details are being released at this time."

She says a piloted detour is available to motorists via Highway 37, the Nass Forest Service Road and Nisga'a Highway 113.  RCMP are referring the travelling public to www.Drive.bc.ca for further iinformation.

From what I was told, someone was sniping cars.
Thats exactly what it is..friends of mine were on their way here at 7 am and were told that someone was shooting at vehicles...pretty scary stuff..they are still waiting to get through.
