Downtown Implementation Team Established

Prince George, B.C.- The Downtown Partnership has made on more shift.
 
Having started as the Mayor’s Task Force for a Better Downtown, then revised to the Downtown Partnership, there is now another element,  the “Downtown Implementation Team”.
 
Prince George City Council has approved the terms of reference for the Implementation Team which will be made up of Tim McEwan  of Initiatives Prince George, and Ian Wells, the City’s Manager of Real Estate.
 
The Implementation Team  will take on strategic planning for downtown It won’t have any new funding, although there is still about $175 thousand left in the Downtown Partnership contingency fund. The  support  for  this team will likely come in the form of staff resources both at City Hall and at Initiatives Prince George. 
 
Initiatives Prince George will be presenting its strategic plan later this month. It is expected that plan will   include a plan for downtown improvements.
 
The Implementation Team will report to the Downtown Partnership quarterly. The Downtown Partnership will report to Council twice each year.

Maybe there should be a strategic plan to rid the city of Initiatives Prince George and the several million dollars a year that that is costing us to look at the down town and dream about the Chinese bringing big business to PG. What has IPG done for all those tax dollars?
Any "Implementation" team member own a paint brush and a can of paint? Downtown George Street looks right ugly these days.
