Prince George, B.C. -  Prince George RCMP are just releasing details this afternoon of an arson fire that damaged three vehicles...

Police say they were called to assist Prince George Fire Rescue at the scene of the blaze in the 89-hundred block of Sintich Road at approximately 9pm Thursday evening.

Constable Lesley Smith says RCMP members were advised that the fire had been deliberately set in the cab of a semi-tractor trailer unit parked at a truck and equipment site on Sintich Road.

Smith says the truck's diesel tank was fortunately empty, but she notes the fire caused extensive damage to the cab and sleeper of the truck, as well as a passenger bus parked nearby and a third vehicle parked in front of the truck.  "The bus sustained heat and fire damage to the siding and could have been completely destroyed if it were not for the quick response of fire crews."

The damage total is estimated at $30-thousand dollars.

RCMP are asking anyone who may have information about this arson or the identity of a possible suspect is asked to call the Prince George detachment at 250-561-3300 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

must be an outoftown logger,I bet, so check the loggers who are at home. Prince George loggers seem to think nobody should be working if there not, like this isn't a new thing
Scoff. Not likely.
the scales are down til freeze up...no one is hauling.
Those must have been mirages I have seen for the last two days driving towards me at the far end of Chief Lake Rd.
Hell of a theory, imb, but it was a highway tractor. So they better start checking anyone without a job, or people that aren't really happy with their jobs, or people that don't like trucks, or people that wanted to be a truck driver but couldn't, or people that are mad at ICBC, or people that like to light things on fire, or people....
