I figure 30 years should take care of the problem, thats only 5 months per conviction...
He probably omits this on his job resumes.
Next stop should be in an asylum for the mentally deranged - for this career trouble maker.
This would be a story if it included the sentence....This criminal is being locked up for ever with no chance of freedom.
unreal...time these types of crap get a good ole thumpin! this dude is lucky it was not my garage! 72 priors????
The worst part of this is that these repeat offenders tend to get lighter sentences the more times they appear before the court. Would like to see at least one judge GROW A PAIR and make an example out of one of these wastes of skin - lock them up and throw away the key.
As long as these dudes do not do any serious time for these B&E's why would they care what we think. Obviously the problem lies with a society that would allow a person with 72 convictions for B&E to be walking around doing B&E's.

Even if he got 6 months for each conviction he should have been in the slammer for 18 years. This would be a huge cost to the Government so they let him walk on most convictions, or settle for time served.

Dont forget that someone is buying all this property that is stolen, and you can rest assured that it is not being bought by the average criminal. Who buys it???

If a person is a career thief, then it logically follows that the longer he is in jail the less B&E's he can do. In a small town like Prince George you have a finite number of criminals and if you put most of them in jail for some serious time then your B&E'S would come down.

Its not like there is a waiting list for people to go into a career of crime. We need stiffer sentencing and a better rehabilatation program, otherwise we will just continue to get more of the same.

It would be interesting to see just how many crimes in the Prince George area are committed by the same people. When you do the stats based on the number of crimes committed you get a skewed picture.

You need the number of crimes committed by specific criminals, then you can extrapolate that number to determine how many people you have to put in jail for how many years to eradicate the crime wave.

Keep in mind that with a serious reduction in crime, you would have a corresponding reduction in Police, Lawyers, Judges, Court Workers, etc; however you would have an increase in Prison Guards, Sheriffs, and Prison facilities.

It is foolish to beleive that in the 21st century in a town the size of Prince George (or any other town) that we cannot solve the crime problem. Of course we can, it only takes resolution. The problem is no one wants to spend the money

If you remember that the Prison Facility in Prince George is a Regional jail for all of North Central BC (two years less a day) you can see why it would fill up quite quickly. In actual fact if you prosecuted everyone and sentenced them to an automatic 14 days in jail for a second impaired driving offence (which is the law) you would fill up this facility with impaired drivers.

We need a huge prison facility that would house a thousand more prisoners, along with a good rehap program. Then we could get these dudes off the streets. If they continued to re offend then we could give them some serious time.

Acutally our money would be better spent on Community Energy Systems, Stupid Road Upgrades, Elaborate Police Stations, Performing Art Centres, Winter GAMES, Airport Runways, Senseless Industrial Parks, Under Utilized Sports Facilities, Over Extended Runways, etc; etc; etc;

No money left for prisons.
Pretty amazing to have 72 convictions and still have the freedom to be out in public.

That pretty much tells you how good our judicial system really is. The cops can't do nothing, but slap his wrist.
With winter comming on I'm sure the Incentive to go to jail is quite compeling. Jail is from what I understand like club med. The proper way would be to make a criminal do hard time, then that criminal would be thinking that there is c onsequences.
Lock him up?? He's our ringer...MVP...He helped put us #1 in the country for crime!!Tired of seeing a man walk free with 70+ convictions ?? How are we ever going to retain our national title?? 3 strikes, 5 strikes 10 strikes...hell no, 70 and still going strong. And who was knocking the BC judicial system?
