Prince George, B.C. - The President of the B.C. NDP party, Moe Sihota, agreed to a brief Q-and-A session after speaking at a dinner hosted by the local constituency association in Prince George on Saturday night.

When asked to confirm if he was being paid as president of the party, Sihota said, "That was confirmed a long time ago."

On October 13th, political pundit, Bill Tieleman, blogged that Sihota is being paid for heading the party (click here), and the NDP confirmed he was being paid a stipend using a gift from the labour movement on October 21st in an article by journalist Sean Holman in The Globe and Mail.

When asked on Saturday if he should be receiving a stipend, he answered, "Usually if you work full-time, you get paid."

With regards to leaks from NDP executive meetings detailing Sihota's strategy for the party on the HST and recall campaigns, as reported by Vaughn Palmer in the Vancouver Sun, Sihota said the leak doesn't bother him, "It's just a fact of life."  He added, "It wasn't a verbatim transcript, it was someone's recollection of what was said -- these things happen in politics, but I don't get too worked up about it."

Me thinks the NDP under Carole James has some serious issues to clean up in a hurry, if they want to be a viable option when we get to the ballot box.
Sihota suddenly in the forefront isn't helping the situation.
As is usual,Carole James says nothing.
What is wrong with this woman?
(I can hear Liberal laughter in the background)
Sihota has been lurking in the background for quite a while, and getting paid somewhere in the neighbourhood of $72,000 a year to do so, apparently.
And he seems to carry a lot more weight than most people realized.
Now he appears to be forcing his way to the front of the room.
Whay say you Carole James?
Are you not the party leader,or are you just a figurehead and someone else is pulling the strings?
Interesting...that would explain a lot about her leadership, as well as this political deathwish the NDP seems to have.
as well as this political deathwish the NDP seems to have.

It is very difficult where all this rhetoric comes from. Its as Moe told us die hard NDP’ers stop looking at your shoes . We live in this backwoods place and some of the opinions that we get need some fine tuning. The NDP gave us good government but it seems that many today are stuck on this globalization idea and are content with the crumbs that the elites leave behind.

Some of us are not great on stats and others are just being sucked in. Some of us live by looking at the world around us and then decide where we should be going.. For one we have never seen the crime rate that exists in Prince George at this time. It’s a good reflection of the attitude of many in our community today. There is this idea that only the elites should have a good education and who cares about poverty.

All we hear is look at the fast ferries. Get real. We are great at looking back but what happens in the future? The NDP gave us good government because they are concerned what happens to our kids and the social problems in our society. They are about our province and the people that live in it.

And last but not least Many of those involved with the NDP it’s a second choice but believe in a liberal philosophy (not BC liberals that are on the extreme right).
Cheers
"The NDP gave us good government".
Now thats funny,I like a good laugh.
Next summer give the NDP a popcorn stand to run. If they make money all summer vote them in again. As for good ol' Moe he is a union NDP socialist guy tried and true but alas, he hired non-union renovators to do work on his home. Can you say hypocrite? I knew you could.
