A busy night tonight for Prince George City Council as it prepares to move into budget time.
City staff will present an overview presentation on the budget. The first actual budget discussion is set to start 4:30 p.m. February 8th. There will be 15 minutes set aside at the start of each budget meeting for public input.
Other major items on the agenda include:
*The draft Heritage Strategic Plan, this is the initial document that will be available for public discussion at a public open house on the 21st of the month. The final report will be presented to Council March 6th.
*A request that Council approve the full Capital funding of $200 thousand dollars in 2006 for further work at the Pine Valley Golf Course to remedy the pine beetle infestation problem.
*Update on the Nechako Watershed Council’s work. The NWC will make a presentation outlining efforts to have a cold water release facility as part of the Kenney Dam.
*Response from CN to the letter Council sent in late December about safety concerns. CN says it is willing to send Jim Feeny, CN’s Public and Government Affairs Manager, to meet with Mayor and Council to address concerns.
