The first was the  re-unveiling of the  thank you  gift from the Province for the  wood  used to make a special medal podium.  The mountain pine beetle  "enhanced" podium was  used by  Tessa  Virtue, Scott Moir and Joannie Rochette when they received their respective medals.  The thank you gift  is  one of the medal trays and a photo of  Olympians standing on top the podium, encased in a shadow box frame. Supplying wood from the City’s wildfire mitigation work in Forest for the World allowed for an even greater community connection to the 2010 Winter Olympic Games," said Mayor Dan Rogers. "We were very proud to partner with Lakeland Mills and the Province on this initiative and took great pride in seeing Olympic Athletes on podiums made from our Community wood."

This shadowbox gift was originally presented to the Mayor  at the Union of B.C. Municipalities convention in Whistler in September.

At right,  Minister of Forests, Mines and Land Pat Bell, Mayor Dan Rogers,  and Minister of Transportation and Infrastructue Shirely Bond  unveil shadow box frame.

Also included in the exhibit is a display dedicated to the 2010 Olympic Torch.
