Prince George, B.C.- Tomorrow, the Pride Centre at UNBC will officially open.
The Centre will provide the campus community with education and resources to eliminate prejudice and discrimination.
“ Visibility matters” says Marli Leibovitch, President of the Northern Pride Centre Society. “Having this safe space for LGBTQ students, allies, Prince George, and northern BC is a great step in the right direction towards acceptance of all people. The support from the community has been amazing and I am so glad that we now have the centre as a resource.”
“Pride Centres are an important feature of university campuses, and I am proud of the work of our committed students to ensure that UNBC can benefit from this great service,” adds NUGSS President Kaleigh Milinazzo.
The grand opening is set for tomorrow in room 6-344 in the NUSC building, from 12-2pm.
"We're so grateful for the abundant support that has emerged from all corners of the university and the greater Prince George community," said Vice President, Reeanna Bradley, "The profound conversations we've had with new friends, in the brief time we've had the space, is a testament to how truly special a place it is."
