City Crews  shore up the tree that will be the focal point of a light up event  on the 24th of November
Prince George, B.C.- The trees are in place for two of the major events that mark the start of the Christmas season.
Yesterday, City crews put in place the tree which will be the focus of attention for the light up event at the Civic Centre plaza on the 24th. That event will include skating on the outdoor rink, hayrides, live music, hot cocoa, story time at the P.G. Library, a creative event at the art gallery , the Festival of Trees inside the Civic Centre, arrival of Santa.
Meantime, over at the Coast Inn of the North, the tree that will be a symbol of your generosity has been hoisted to the roof of that building. ( see photo at right)
The tree will light up in conjunction with the donations made to the Salvation Army.
Inside the Coast, there will be special celebrations on the same evening ( November 24th) including singing and a new event which, for 20 dollars, special table top trees can be purchased. Some of those trees carry some very special gifts.

Hi. I know its still early in the season, but can you mention the company's that donate the trees and crane's that make all of this possible? Most of us will never have a need to use them, but they sure deserve a plug as I think we all enjoy both trees. I can't read the name on the truck door but I know the City doesn't have a crane. Thank you to all involved
Bang on JLS, The cranes are worth $300/hr. Lets give them a bit of bang for their support.
The name on the truck is Warmac Ventures Ltd.

I wonder if the two guys in the picture are city workers?. Get their names and we can check todays Citizen for their T4 info!
This years tree light up will be much more enjoyable with a liquor store in the Coast... :-D
Yes, you should mention the names of the companies involved, if I am not mistaken, some or all of their time, and paid employees time, is given for free.
In the past it has been Sterling Crane that hoisted the tree of lights to the roof of the Inn, and the Inn contributes as well.
metalman.
bah---humbug!
Wouldn't it be nice if there was a tree planted in the Civic Centre Plaza which could be lit up each year without having to cut a tree down.
