Prince George, B.C. – The Lheidli T’enneh have been called to a special meeting at the Coast Inn of the North today to talk about the possibility of holding a second vote on the treaty they rejected in March of 2007.
That package would have given the band of 318 members  about $75 million dollars in cash and land holdings.
The Band is voting today on if it will hold a second vote. The Government’s of B.C. and Canada requested a  decision on a second vote by the end of November. The two levels of government have been holding on to assets in the event the Treaty is approved, but would like to move on if there is to be no vote.
Vote results are expected to be known around 5:00.

Lheidli T’enneh ? Who are they?
I'm getting really confused with all these new names popping up lately.
"The people from the confluence of the two rivers."

Lheidli T'enneh has a vast traditional territory stretching over an area of 4.3 million hectares from the Rocky Mountains to the beautiful interior plateau.

Check out their website.

It actually is not a new name, but has been in use for thousands of years.
Thousands of years ?? where did this statistic come from ? Says nothing of the origin on the posted website.. website is actually very uninformative.

I have heard they only surfaced once the gov started all the handouts?
sorry no money
1000's of years...????????
How do you know, Northerngurl???

These people lived in the stone age, there are no written record about that at all.

All these new tribal names came up in the last 10 years or so. Ten years ago you did not hear these names.
