Working To Promote Peace

Prince George, B.C. - This is YMCA Peace Week, and the Prince George YMCA is hoping you will step up to the plate and nominate someone for their Annual YMCA Peace Week Medallion.
There are three different categories for the award:
Local ( Northern B.C.) for an individual who has had in creating peaceful communities and promotes innovative and sustainable solutions to violence, conflict or discriminiation.
National/International: an individual or group who has had a direct impact on national and or international communities
Youth: an individual under the age of 30 who hs had a direct impact on local, national or international communities.
The theme for Peace week 2010 is ``YMCA Inspire Peace, Think it, Say it, Do it”
“In today’s globalized world, we are connected to each other more than we may realize” says Mark Miller, CEO of the Family YMCA in Prince George “Peace Week helps remind us that we can each play a part in making our communities healthier and more peaceful.”
