Prince George, B.C.- The draft plan for the development of the Prince George Golf and Curling Club lands will be back before City Council this evening.
Council had asked for the plan to be  amended to exclude “auto mall” as a permitted use within the Regional Commercial land use area. The Manager of Long Range Planning will present a report which calls for that motion to be defeated, outlines the consequences of removing auto sales from the plan and urges the City to adopt one of four options.
The Winter Games committee will present an update and game plan for the 2015 Games. The plan calls for a budget of $49,441,165 dollars which includes a $3 million dollar contingency fund. The presentation will detail where the City should be at various times over the next four years leading up to the games.
The Prince George, Air Improvement Roundtable  (PG AIR) will request $70 thousand dollars from the City for the next year’s worth of operations. That funding includes $30 thousand for an “Air Care Coordinator.
Initiatives Prince George will be presenting it’s three year strategic plan which includes a detailed report on the successes over the past two years, and plans for the next three. The report calls for a service agreement with the city that will see the City pay $1.024 million dollars next year. Of that amount, 20$ will be spent on efforts to secure downtown development.
Council will be asked to give approval to two alternative approval processes for the borrowinig of funds for two different projects, one is $3.894 million for the reconstruction of River Road, the other is to borrow $758 thousand for the Simon Fraser Bridge project.,
