Vanderhoof Under Air Quality Advisory

Vanderhoof, B.C. -The Ministry of Environment,  in collaboration with the Northern Health Authority, has issued an Air Quality Advisory for Vanderhoof due to high concentrations of fine particulate matter from illegal open burning in the community. 

This advisory is in effect until further notice.  

The provincial air quality objective for fine particles, PM2.5, is 25 micrograms per cubic metre, averaged over 24 hours. The 24 hour PM2.5 rolling average was 37 µg/m3 at Vanderhoof at 3 p.m. this afternoon.

I did not realized Vanderhoof had an air quality monitoring station.
Maybe the air quality monitoring station is on top of the behive burner at Canfor. Air quality today is crystal clear. A little foggy yesterday but I don't believe there is a need for an air quality advisory.
