PGSO violinist, Bob Brooks, and student musician, Brittany Iwanciwski

Prince George, B.C. -  It was a small, but appreciative crowd that gathered for a special afternoon session called, 'Let's Talk About Music', at the Prince George Chateau yesterday afternoon...

The event was hosted by the PGSO and was open to all -- it was an opportunity for anyone who ever wanted to touch and hold a violin, and maybe even try a note, to do so.

It was also an opportunity to meet the musicians.  Bob Brooks is a long-time member with the Prince George Symphony Orchestra and student musician, Brittany Iwanciski, is involved in the symphony's mentoring program, called Side-by-Side.

The 15-year-old has been playing the violin for eight years and has been in the Side-by-Side program for a year-and-a-half now.  She's played in two symphony concerts.

Her talent was thoroughly enjoyed by all in attendance yesterday, as they preferred to be hum along to Christmas Carols, than try their hand at the violin. (Click on photo at right to listen)
