Better late than never.  Greg Fraser scored with 27.9 seconds to play in the third period and the Prince George Cougars got a big two points with a 3-2 regulation time win over the Kamloops Blazers Friday night at CN Centre.

The Cougars and Blazers were squaring off for the fourth time this season and first at CN Centre.  The Cougars were winners in the last two meetings by scores of 8-1 on October 16 and 7-5 on November 27.  Ty Rimmer was back in goal for the Cougars after posting a 37 save shut-out Tuesday against the Swift Current Broncos.  The Blazers, though, would open the scoring on a breakaway goal by Logan McVeigh at 12:36, beating Rimmer low on the blocker side.  But the Cougars had an answer when James Dobrowolski won a face-off to the left of Blazer goalie Jeff Bosch back to Cody Carlson at the right point.  Carlson let a low slap shot go through a screen in front through the legs of Bosch for his fifth goal of the season at 15:46, tying the game at one.  The Cougars out-shot the Blazers 16-13 in the first.

In the second period, the Blazers out-shot the Cougars 18-13, but it would be Prince George getting the only tally.  Taylor Stefishen took a short pass from Tayler Thompson and then snapped a high shot over the glove hand of Bosch for his seventh of the season, to put the Cougars ahead 2-1 after two periods of play.

The Blazers tied the game at 6:28 of the third, when Dylan Willick broke down the left wing and then cut in front of the Cougars goal, before sliding the puck past Rimmer to knot the game at two.  With overtime looming, though, Charles Inglis kept the puck alive in the Blazers zone and fed Fraser, who ripped a high wrist shot from the left face-off circle past Bosch for the winning goal, giving the Cougars a 3-2 lead and eventual win.  The Blazers out-shot Prince George 12-10 in the third and 43-39 in the game, giving Rimmer a Cougars season high 41 stops.  The Cougars were 0-for-3 on the power play, while the Blazers went 0-for-2.  The Cougars own a 17-14-2-1 record and hand the Blazers their third straight loss, dropping Kamloops to 15-17-1-1.

The Cougars have now won back-to-back games at CN Centre and will look for a third straight win at home Saturday when the host the Blazers in the annual Teddy Bear and Toque Toss game, starting at 7:00pm.  Tickets are available by calling Ticketmaster at 250-564-5585.
