The Coast Inn of the North was looking for something to set it apart from its competitors, and now they have it.

The Coast  has always supported Molson products, and the Coast  chain considers itself "Molson hotels", so the matching of Molson products in a cross promotion linked to sports, was a natural.

The result?

Two "themed suites" at the Coast Inn of the North.  The Molson Canadian Hockey Suite, and the Coors Light Golf Suite.

In the hockey suite, there's a Markus Naslund signed  Jersey, a bubble hockey game,  and a bar fridge  for your favourite Molson product.

The suite also offers a Maple Leaf's shower curtain,  Team Canada bath mat,  and  special product labelled leather furniture

Even the area rug has  a hockey theme.

Of course, both suites have a 42 inch plasma t.v.  and stereo sound to catch your favourite team in action.

Over in the Coors Light  golf Suite, there is  an electronic  putting green,  signed  photo prints of Mike Weir and Tiger Woods, and a phone that looks like a golf bag!

Both suites offer  two  queen size beds in a sperate bedroom, where there is another t.v.  The suites also have a microwave and popcorn!

"We wanted to offer the corporate traveller, and the sport fan, something a little different" says Coast Inn of the North Sales Manager Laurie Braaten,  "the two suites have already been booked and the guests had a very positive reaction to the decor and themes."

Will there be more?  "Yes" says Braaten, "Watch for as many as 8 different themed rooms at the Coast, but  they will be along the sports genre as sports are timeless."

The Coast chain is also expected to  add such suites to its other hotels.

Cool idea.

I always thought a hotel in PG with an official sized ice rink in the basement would be a huge hit in this town and would be guaranteed the out of town hockey teams if it included ice time for practice. I know that's where I would stay if I had the option.
