There was growth in all areas with the exception of the number of families adopted. That has dropped from 205 in 2008, to 193 this year. There has also been a significant increase in the number of families receiving Christmas Cheer packages, with 559 receiving them this year, up from 419 in 2009 and 392 in 2008.
The Tree of Lights ( at right) saw the largest gain in support raising $55 thousand this year, compared to $43 thousand in 2009.
“We wish to thank to the hundreds of volunteers who have shared the gift of Christmas this year,” said Bruce Kirk, Executive Director of the Sally Ann. “And are extremely grateful for so many people who have donated so generously to The Salvation Army throughout this Christmas season.”
The results of the last several weeks reveal increased activity and support in the Army’s work:

“Every dollar donated and is a vote of confidence and trust in TSA and its services. This is a testimony to the faithfulness of those who volunteer and help this community through the work of The Salvation Army. If we didn’t do our jobs well, God would just have to send those in need elsewhere. It’s about good stewardship. The real winners of this year’s campaign are those we serve.” says Kirk.
