Prince George, B.C. – There is no excuse for drinking and driving tonight.
Operation Red Nose is still in operation, Prince George Transit will be offering free rides from 7 p.m. until 3.a.m. and if that isn’t enough, the RCMP are making it clear they will be out in full force tonight.
Both the local and North District detachments will have staff on the roads making sure drivers get home safe.
Corporal Craig Douglass says the CounterAttack program will be looking for anyone who may have had one too many before getting behind the wheel of a vehicle “We are once again asking that members of our community take a few extra moments to arrange a safe and sober ride home. Both offices of the RCMP in Prince George have increased the amount of members on the road enforcing both Criminal and Motor Vehicle Act offences.”
This year police are also calling on the public to keep tabs on others. They urge that if you see someone trying to drive while under the influence of drugs including alcohol, that you call 9-1-1 and report what you see.

Hmmmmm ... and if there is a real emergency? .. hopefully the 911 operators are not busy on nuisance calls.
