Prince George, B.C.- Hard to imagine planning a summer camping trip when you are still shovelling snow, or looking forward to a ride this afternoon on your snowmobile, but it is possible.
On line booking is now available for all group campsites and the Bowron Lake canoe circuit by going to www.discovercamping.ca .

Reservations for front-country campgrounds and the Berg Lake trail will start two weeks earlier than usual, on March 15, 2011, in response to public requests.

B.C. Parks says the changes will result in more timely service and fewer delays in processing reservations for the most popular long weekends in the summer.

As always, reservations can be made through the online system or by calling the call Centre at 1 800 689-9025.

Discover Camping allows you to view the availabilities and amenities at more than 80 campgrounds which accept reservations across B.C.

I would suggest you read the rules of camping in the Bowron Lakes before you decide to go there. You might be unpleasantly surprised. They are bizzare to say the least. Be prepared to give up your rights to privacy as they search you for a can of pop or a bit of alcohol. Nazi law soon to be established in BC.
