Mayor Colin Kinsley says he and City Engineer Frank Blues have  made some efforts to get the Province to clean up the provincial roadways sooner rather than later.

Kinsley says stepped up forestry work is having an inmapct  "With an increase in the allowable cut, there are more logging trucks on 97 and highway 16 through the City, and they are carrying all sorts of stuff in from the bush.  That stuff contributes to busted windshields, busted headlights, and there is a community pride issue there as well".

Kinsley says he has suggested the Ministry of Forests and Range to make an allocation to the Highway's Ministry to cover the clean up costs.

Right now, the Province gets a major sweeping done in the late spring, but Kinsley says that one cleanup may not be enough, and  more  would help reduce dust  and air quality issues.
