Prince George, B.C.- The Missing Women Commission of Inquiry is in Prince George today, but this is not a formal hearing.
From 4-7 p.m., the Commission will be holding a “community engagement” session at the Prince George Civic Centre. Commissioner Wally Oppal says the session is meant to help him, and the Commission staff, understand the impact the tragedy of the murdered and missing women has had on communities.
Oppal says he is particularly interested in hearing from those who were related to the murdered and missing women, and those who were directly impacted by the tragedy.
At the end of this month, the Commission will hold two days of public hearings in Vancouver to hear from many of the near two dozen groups which have applied for standing to take part in the inquiry which will take place later this year.
