Police Seek Driver In Quesnel

Quesnel - RCMP are currently investigating a collision in which a 16 year old girl was struck by a vehicle while she was crossing the intersection of Carson Avenue and Front Street last Tuesday afternoon.
 
Shortly before 1pm on January 11, 2011, a 16 year old Quesnel resident was crossing the intersection of Carson Avenue and Front Street when she was struck by a southbound vehicle.  The vehicle then departed the scene proceeding eastbound on Carson Avenue.   The 16 year old female walked away from the collision but suffered whiplash, a concussion and swelling and laceration to the head. 
 
The collision was captured by nearby video surveillance footage.  This footage illustrates the presence of other vehicles and potential witnesses to this crash.  Neither the injured pedestrian or the driver of the vehicle remained on scene. 
 
The vehicle involved in the collision is described as a lighter coloured four door sport utility style vehicle operated by an older Caucasian male wearing glasses.  Police would like to speak with the driver of this vehicle and anyone who may have witnessed this collision. 
 
Police are urging the driver of the vehicle and anyone who may have witnessed the collision to call Quesnel RCMP at 250-992-9211.
