Northern Lights Festival Still Glowing

No one wants to pull the plug on the Northern Lights Festival.

It is still on the books for budget consideration.  The request is for $65 thousand dollars, but the finance department says $35,000 would be from the city and $30,000 would be from Initiatives Prince George.

Still, the full $65 grand is on the City's books and the impact is to municipal tax rates. Initiatives Prince George gets the bulk of its budget from the City of Prince George.

Initiatives Prince George budget will be up for discussion Wednesday.

It is a matter of dollars and cents, if you have them to spend you can have it if you don't then say no. I for one am tired of bailing all these over spenders out
This Northern Lights Festival will require people to park somewhere in Prince George and take a Bus to the top of connaught hill to view the ***lights*** then back down. You will be up the hill for at least half an hour wandering around in the snow and at times minus 20 Celcius. In addition you will have to pay for this honour.

Your alternative would be to continue to support Candy Cane lane in the comfort of your car, with the option to walk if you so chose. You should be able to see the lights on Connaught from Candy Cane Lane. I wonder how long this hairbrained idea will last.
