I don`t know who to even vote for. Either way I think is a bad decision.
I hadn't seen this little tidbit posted here, but maybe I missed it.

Last weekend a read an article in the Van.Sun that a great number of ex-cons across Canada choose to "retire" in BC. Victoria gets the most with 187 parolees per 100,000 residents, second in line was New Westminster with 167 per capita.

Prince George made the top ten with 79 per capita. The national average is 25.

Here's a link to the full story...

Clean up after your dogs. Dog bombs everywhere. Some people..............
No matter who becomes Premier, later this month or after the next general election, we're just going to get more of the same.

Our cost of living will continue to climb, and for most of us, still faster than any increase in our standard of living does.

It's akin to trying to make a two-wheeled cart with one wheel larger than the other go in a straight line.

No matter which horse tries to pull it, the direction leads round and round in circles. Until the wheel itself is changed, so they're both the same size.

One wheel of that cart, the small one, is what you and I and everyone else has in 'money'. The bigger one is the 'prices' of all that we need and want. Who's going to change the wheel?
I have been reading about the BRIC (Brazil,Russia,India,China) countries meeting and having talks about renouncing the American dollar. Has anyone else been seeing news stories about this? And what impact it may have down the road for Canada if this all happens this year.

I have found that it is mainly in overseas news and that American news is not covering it at all.
John Candy has been reincarnated as an RCMP constable in PG.

Ddon't believe me? Check out page two of the Citizen today!
..and while on the subject of The Citizen.

If I were Canada's top selling adult oriented movie and dildo store, would the Prince George Citizen allow me to show case the latest in blow up dolls on the front page.

Corporate citizenship put aside, I'm getting a little tired of the front page of my morning news paper being a double full page advertisement for a truck dealership.

Would an escort agency get the go ahead for this advertising space?

The Citizen if going downhill.IMHO
Still on the Citizen ..

,.. the new comics really do suck! They used to have actual humor and wit, verbal inginuity, subliminal (and not so subliminal) rhetoric, sarcasm and funny anecdotes that the average reader would look forward to for the daily dose of levity.

I've given it a fair shake and read all the editorials and hype from the Citizen brass - but in the end

- IT JUST AINT CUTTIN' IT!
One wheel of that cart, the small one, is what you and I and everyone else has in 'money'. The bigger one is the 'prices' of all that we need and want. Who's going to change the wheel?

No one has the balls to change the wheel. We will continue to feed the elites in our society untill we bcome a third world country or do what’s happening in Egypt today. The number of billionaires in our society keeps increasing every day.

Yet our governments are reducing the tax load for these people at our expense, The HST is another shift of dollars from the middle class to the wealthy. This means the wheel is getting bigger and bigger until we will end up in a spin like in “spinning our wheels”.
HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!!!

hope you all have a great weekend!!

{{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}} to everyone!!
Citizen bashing day...hey happy Citizen Bashing...how about the very dry and hardly hilarious head line captions..I think they have a second year 5th grade class writing these...
Good Morning everyone. I am so excited that I would share my new wealth with the rest of you. for the past year I have been receiving my CPP and OAS benefits after working for the past 43 years. I and all the other seniors out there received an increase in our benefits. The increase to me amounted to $15.25 in CPP benefits and $2.61 in oAS payments. Maybe now I can buy a latte instead of just a black cup of coffee twice a month. I might as well spend this windfall on a latte as it will not cover even a portion of the HST, carbon tax etc. Have a good day everyone I am going to town to buy my first latte. Thank you government for my first new experience.
Heard a short blip on the radio the other morn bout a calf moose having to be killed....nothing more. Any one know the whole story? Just wonderin.....have a good weekend!!
yellow shovel

The calf moose was accidentally killed by a conservation officer when the 'bear banger' he shot at it broke the skin of the moose, lodged inside the body and exploded. Apparently, the bear banger is supposed to hit the animal, bounce off, drop to the ground and then exploded - scaring the animal away in the process.
About the moose, a CO was trying to get a cow and calf moving and accidently killed the calf with a bear banger. He shot at the calf with the banger and it entered the skin before exloding. He says a bear banger has not entered the skin before, hits the moose then falls on the ground and explodes.

Now here is what I don't understand, bears are blow away left right and centre but not moose. In the article it mentioned that the cow was too aggressive toward humans, even more so after the calf was killed. It also mentions how moose are generally docile, but when they turn appressive they can do great damage to property and grievous harm to people and other animals.
Sooo why are not moose blown away like bears, they are just as dangerous. I spend a lot of time hiking in the bush and never as yet had an issue with a bear but have had a couple of interesting encounters with moose.

Yes bears are potentily dangerous but so are moose, so again why are bears blown away and not moose.
People still read newspapers? I guess it's good to keep up with what happened 2 days ago.
Friend in PG hospital with dementia. Friend was active but now just sitting in a hospital bed waiting for a room in the complex care facility. Friend has no family in town. I enquired whether friend could partake in recreation activities offered at hospital. Was told that friend couldn't. Waits for complex care beds take months and months. Friend in hospital wasting away not only mentally but physically now. This is horrible. Shouldn't there be something in place at the hospital (paid or volunteer) to help these "in limbo" people maintain their physical health at least? Could a couple of the higher-ups take small pay cuts in order to fund a recreation position for these people? It is truly an inhumane situation.
Earlier in the week it was in the paper that the "alleged" GTS gangster criminal had his deportation South Africa, half way arounfd the world on hold. Kinda on again off again. (Typical indecisive government branch). Anyhoo, this guy claims he would rather spend time in our slammer (Hilton on the Hill) instead of being flown to South Africa. Ain't that a hoot? Maybe tourism PG can give this guy a job, a suit, an office with a window and some bucks. Tourism PG can then claim, without a doubt that being in jail here is far superior than spending thousands of dollars to fly to a sunny clime with rich ambiance of different people with a different culture than ours. Travel does broaden the mind. As they say. But a one way ticket? I guess that's another kettle of fish. If I was an "alleged" criminal heading for SA, I'd would at least inquire if the taxpayers of South Africa pay for the cablevision in South African jails. Maybe he did and that's why her doesn't want to go. We need our TV don't we? One can only lift weights and play tennis for so long. At this writing, I hope he's gone.
Good afternoon and happy Friday to all. The days of recycling are here and although I may not be the best recycler out there I try my best. Bottles, cans, milk cartons, cardboard etc etc. But what about detergent containers? You go to any given store in the PG area and the push seems to be to liquid detergents as opposed to the powdered ones in the cardboard containters. I hope I'm not missing the obvious but where do you take the plastic detergent containers to in this town? The depot I frequent does not take liquid detergent containers and does not seem to know who does.
Harbinger: He also said that he wanted a chance to better his life here (by whatever means he chooses) but he's been given chance after chance and doesn't even take then seriously. Now he's faced with something he really doesn't like and its "Nnnooo, I don't wanna go!" Hey fella, you made your own bed.........
Have a good safe weekend everyone. Enjoy life but consider other people as well.
I am surprised that there was no air quality advisory yesterday as the Lieberal hopefuls and El Gordo were in town with their mouths open. Talk about polution.
Has anyone seen Charlotte Henay hanging around or did she finally leave town with her broom on fire?
@forthegoodofmankind: great idea, and likely a very needed service. Please don't wait for someone else to do it - step up and get it going!

US Energy report says Canadian pipeline could lower demand for Middle East Oil

Its not only in British Columbia that these pipelines are happening!

Canada is no different than California. It's time to be more like Texas.

California:
The Governor of California is jogging with his dog along a nature trail. A coyote jumps out and attacks the Governor's dog, then bites the Governor.

1. The Governor starts to intervene, but reflects upon the movie "Bambi" and then realizes he should stop because the coyote is only doing what is natural.

2. He calls animal control . Animal Control captures the coyote and bills the State $200 testing it for diseases and $500 for relocating it.

3. He calls a veterinarian. The vet collects the dead dog and bills the State $200 testing it for diseases.

4. The Governor goes to hospital and spends $3,500 getting checked for diseases from the coyote and on getting his bite wound bandaged.

5. The running trail gets shut down for 6 months while Fish & Game conducts a $100,000 survey to make sure the area is now free of dangerous animals.

6. The Governor spends $50,000 in state funds implementing a "coyote awareness program" for residents of the area.

7. The State Legislature spends $2 million to study how to better treat rabies and how to permanently eradicate the disease throughout the world.

8. The Governor's security agent is fired for not stopping the attack. The State spends $150,000 to hire and train a new agent with additional special training re: the nature of coyotes.

9. PETA protests the coyote's relocation and files a $5 million suit against the State.

TEXAS:

The Governor of Texas is jogging with his dog along a nature trail. A Coyote jumps out and attacks his dog.

1. The Governor shoots the coyote with his State-issued pistol and keeps jogging. The Governor has spent $0.50 on a .45 ACP hollow point cartridge.

2. The Buzzards eat the dead coyote.

And that, my friends, is why California is broke and Texas is not.
Just read in the Vancouver sun that the liberal party signed up a Cat to vote in the next Premier for the province.
Wonder if Tweety's on the list as well.
It's nice that George Abbott came out and called for an independent audit to ensure no fraudulent members are allowed to vote.
Just think, Sylvester could have the deciding vote. If its a big cat it could eat a falcon............
Ok Dragonmaster So you think Texas is ok and your story seens to confirm your notion.

Now tell us how would you like to be living in Whistler with the demise of 70 sled dogs. Herd the guy used an ax to terminate the life of these nice valuable dogs. And now the province is starting an inquiery.

Your right Dragonmaster Texas is smarter then we are in BC.
Cheers
GOOO TIMBERWOLVES GOOOO
I want the politicians to run a honest election. Tell us how you are going to help us out.. then actually work toward it.

Dont mudsling the other candidates..thats easy to run down anyone.. but why must they lower themselves to this. Talk about a waste of money.
