Goodbye and goodridance Mr goodfornothing
so sick of politicians.man! when is all this stupidity end ?
Campbell isn't gone yet, but I will give him credit for his abilitly to have misdirected everyone in the province. He has effectively taken the media spotlight of of him and put it onto everyone else, while he continues to do his thing in the background totally unobstructed. I wonder what little goodies he has been handing out that we haven't heard about, yet?
Don't let the door hit your a** on the way out!
Are political contributions subject to HST? Just wondering out-loud.
Campbell is a hero.
Yup, hes a hero allright. He disappears from the radar over his popularity, (the lack of it)and reappears trying to become the saviour of sled dogs in the province.

Opportunist!
Yahoo! Now the Health Care and Education systems should be partying. Maybe we can restore them over time! This, folks, is a promise of HOPE! Yahoo! Just keep on going Gordo!
I can remember the decade under the NDP in this province when the only thing that grew was the civil service and the provincial debt. BC had to stoop to getting equalization payments from Ottawa. The Liberals picked the province up by it's bootstraps and got it moving again. Was it always pretty- no. IMO letting the minimum wage go from highest to lowest was a mistake,it should be adjusted more often.

The way the HST was implemented was also a mistake, although I have seen news reports of business owners who initially were against it now seeing it in a positive light. I do chuckle when they say that business will pass on the savings. It should be advertised as something that has and will continue to increase capital investment and thereby grow the economy as a whole.
im so glad he is out fo here ahhhhhhhh
I think all politicians should be checked for psycopathic and antisocial personality disorders befor they can run for PM !?
i mean MP
you were right on both instances Boudicca
Everything considered I agree with lonesome sparrow. The NDP sure mismanaged this province into have-not status. It happened, it is a fact and no amount of Gordon hating is going to make up for it.

The Liberals came to power only because the NDP failed so totally and miserably.

Enjoy your retirement from a very difficult job, Gordon!
Lonesome Aparrow and PrinceGeorge I totally agree with you folks. The fiberals have made the NDP look like rank amateurs.
So, the notion that the NDP ran this province into the ground is now a fact? And how exactly do qualify the "fact" that child poverty has steadily increased under the Liberal's benevolent watch? Wouldn't you say that for children living below the poverty line, that this government has driven the province into the ground?
And isn't it conceivable that big business, who doesn't care where the profit comes from, might simply conduct their affairs in a way that contributes to a given jurisdiction's economic decline if they saw that it gave the political party of their choice an advantage?
Just asking . . .
Seamutt, I totally agree with your statement about rank amateurs! The NDP were/are rank amateurs, never let a province be run by rank amateurs!

Krusty, the economic decline under the NDP was so great that B.C. became a have-not province!

It declined from #1 to dead last #10.

Isn't that telling you something?
Just asking...
The NDP do not support business as much as they do support social programs, health care & education, the things that matter the most to us. As many of us get older and need more health care, I will be welcoming the NDP back and will be thrilled when the big business supporting Liberals are gone.
mythoughts you are dreaming isn't going to happen. You have been mislead.
My thoughts might do well to take a course in economics. Social programs, education and health care are all funded by the tax payer.Without businesses to provide employment, who will fund these programs????
Mythoughts, better think again. Without business, capital and profits social programs are basically toast, as are health care and education.

The whole world is based on capitalism and profits. Union pension funds are invested in shares of companies which are expected to make a profit and pay dividends.

Without business and industry, trade and commerce we would have a fourth world standard of living. One may not like that but it is a global fact.

Look at China, India and Africa. Don't forget Russia and its formerly socialist workers' paradise republics.

No private business, no profits, no motive to go to work for starvation wages and empty shelves in the government owned stores.

It's been tried and it was a disaster.

Bang on, Rogue!
I've been waiting for someone to pull the "business to provide employment" Liberal/business/corporate blackmail card.

Nothing like threatening the people of this province with "if you don't vote for the liberal/corporate bedfellow party, all us business types will leave BC and take our Business to China! Hmmm, many already have, haven't they? Corporate liberal greed alive and well in BC. Thats why so many people refer to BC as "Bring Cash".

It is a case of a robust and growing economy paying for programs and services from current accounts rather than deficit financing. If asked which party is better at keeping the economy growing, I would pick the Liberals every time. If I were a money lender- the ndp.
The liberals do not have the monopoly on good governance. Far from it. They sold the fast cats at such low cost one would wonder who is getting the kickback. Remember also the sale of B.C. Rail. Child poverty was already mentiopned. My money is on the N.D.P. and it always has been.
Well said, lonesome sparrow! There are only two parties. The choice is extremely limited. Too bad we don't have the option to vote for one that combines the good points of the two present ones into a harmonious middle of the road blend.

Choosing between the two present ones is like choosing between two bad tasting medicines - one may choose the one that tastes less bitter.

Unless one is so indoctrinated that even the most bitter one tastes sweet like honey.

Probably the best economy driving Premier we have had. I love him.
Too bad he had to leave the entire left in his wake. The personal attacks from the NDP made him shut them out and that has proven to be costly. Too bad.
Christy Clark all the way!!!
P.S. Love the NDP too (great opposition!)
Dragonmaster:"Nothing like threatening the people of this province with "if you don't vote for the liberal/corporate bedfellow party, all us business types will leave BC and take our Business to China!Hmmm, many already have, haven't they? "

Well, that's a good one! Many have already left? Doesn't that mean that our Province hasn't been friendly ENOUGH towards business?

Remember the mass exodus under the NDP? Our greater Prince George area lost 18,000 in population, mostly to Alberta.

Surefire

Before talking about the sale of the fast cats - maybe you should look back a little further into the building and the very limited use they got. I imagine Glen Clark's cheeks flush at the mention.
I think the ndp would like to let sleeping dogs lie when it comes to the fast cats.
Not open to the public.......ok....fine....
You can all jump in the lake you liberals!
If it was opened to the public, the public wouldnt go, and they would be embarressed. Thats why they kept it closed.

It will be attended by all the Glad Handers, and then Campbell will jump on the plane and get the hell out of Dodge.

I wonder when and if he will ever come back to this burg. Do you think he will come for the Winter Games?? Somehow I doubt it.
