Team BC Announced For 2011 Winter Games

Prince George, B.C. - British Columbia is sending a team of 260 athletes and 75 coaches to Halifax to compete in the 2011 Canada Winter Games, which run from February 11-27.
In announcing the team travelling to Nova Scotia, Minister of Community, Sport and Cultural Development, Stephanie Cadieux, says, "It's thrilling to know we are sending off the next generation of Olympic, Paralympic and Special Olympic athletes."
Cadieux says, "I want to commend every member in being named to Team BC and in reaching this considerable level of achievement."
There are 11 athletes, three coaches, and two Team Managers from Prince George. The following is a list of athletes and coaches from across the region, who will be participating in the games:

The Minister points out these athletes will be marking the trail for athletes aspiring to compete at the next Canada Winter Games, held in Prince George in 2015.
Team BC Chef de Mission, Ajay Patel, says, "We may be able to watch some of the athletes we are sending off today when we view television coverage of the 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi."
