Prince George, B.C. -  RCMP are recommending charges in connection with a foot chase early Sunday morning through the CN Railyard on 1st Avenue...

The incident began when an officer on patrol came across a group of people fighting near 3rd Avenue and Quebec Street -- the group dispersed, with one person being arrested and lodged in cells for causing a disturbance.  But that proved to be just the beginning for police, as other officers on patrol located a known gang member, believed to be involved in the disturbance, who fled when an attempt was made to arrest him.

The foot chase took police through the CN Railyard on 1st Avenue. Corporal Craig Douglass says CN Rail was asked to suspend operations in the area for approximately one hour for the safety of police and the subject being pursued.  Douglass says, "The suspect, who continued to resist, was arrested with the assistance of a police service dog near 4th Avenue and Edmonton Street."

29-year-old Jesse Dayton Lockhart is facing charges of Escape of Lawful Custody and Obstruction of a Peace Officer.  Lockhart also had an outstanding warrant for Assault Causing Bodily Harm.  Corporal Douglass says Lockhart is a known associate of the Independent Soldiers street gang.

Douglass is also issuing a 'thank you' on behalf of the RCMP to CN Rail for their patience and cooperation during the incident.

Have they slapped his wrist gently, fed him, cleaned him up and released him on his own recognizance yet?
metalman.
If the police were to collect all the people known to be involved in criminal activities, and have them all sent away. Prince George population will dip below 70,000 thus impacting funding. Hmmmmm seems like a delicate balance.
If convicted he should also have to pay restitution to CN for their loss of productivity
CN had productivity?
I really wish pictures could be posted of these known criminals and gang members. It would certainly do a lot to keep people in the public service industries a lot safer if they knew who to watch out for in their dealings with them.
Whassamatter Jesse?
Food better on the hill? Seems you just keep going back there. Miss someone up there?
Did you at least give the dog a snack?
Unfortunately this guy will keep doing stupid things til its club fed.
If our system would only lengthen jail time for prolific offenders, I'd be happy.
balls balls balls....... if only our justice system had them.
Slim2229: yes, apparently he did. The Free Press reported that he was taken to the hospital for injuries including dog bites. Maybe the police aren't allowed to handle him the way they probably wanted to but the dog did. 'Way to go dog!
